안녕하세요. Lucy입니다. 오늘은 해외출장시 필요한 영어회화 표현에 대해서 말씀드리겠습니다.

업무상 해외 출장이나 해외여행, 배낭 여행을 가셨을때 쉽게 쓸수 있는 표현, 아래의 영어표현은 지도를 들고 관광 명소를  찾을 때, 혹은 노상에서 방향을 잃고 길을 물을 때 필요한 관용 표현입니다. 우리나라를 찾아온 외국인이 길을 물어 오면, 잘 알지 못하더라도 외면하지 말고 "I'm a stranger here. (저도 여기는 처음인데요.)"라는 한 마디 정도는 할 수 있어야 하겠죠? ^^

Excuse me. 실례합니다. Sorry to trouble you, but... 실례합니다. I beg your pardon, but... 실례합니다. I'm lost. Are you familiar with this area? 길을 잃었는데요. 당신은 이 지역을 잘 아십니까?

2.영어회화, 영어표현  ▷ 가는 방향을 묻다.  

Could you tell me the way to the subway station? 지하철 역으로 가는 길을 가르쳐 주시겠습니까? Can you direct me to the Capital Hotel? 캐피털 호텔로 가는 길을 가르쳐 주시겠습니까? Will you show me the way to the post office? 우체국으로 가는 길을 알려 주시겠습니까?

Does this road go to the railroad (or railway) station? 이 길은 기차역으로 가죠? Am I on the right road for Wall Street. 이 길이 월스트리트로 가는 게 맞지요? Which way is it to the American Theater? 아메리칸 극장으로 가려면 어느 길로 가야 합니까? Which of these streets goes to the Capital Hotel? 캐피털 호텔로 가는 길은 어느 길입니까? How far is it? 얼마나 멉니까?

Could you tell me the shortest way to the station? 역으로 가는 지름길을 알려 주시겠습니까? Which is the best way to get to Park Avenue? 파크가로 가려면 어느 길이 가장 좋을까요?

What's the name of this street? 이 거리의 이름이 무엇입니까? Could you tell me where the post office is? 우체국이 어디에 있는지 말해 주시겠습니까? Is this the right way to go to the Main Street? 중심가로 가려면 이 길이 맞습니까? Do you know where the airport is? 공항이 어디에 있는지 아십니까? Where can I find the bank? 은행은 어디에 있습니까? Excuse me, but is there a bookstore near here? 실례지만, 근처에 서점이 있습니까? Is it close to the hotel? 그곳은 호텔에서 가깝나요? Is it near the hotel? 그곳은 호텔에서 가깝나요?

Which side of the street is it on? 그것은 거리의 어느 쪽에 있습니까? Is it on this side of the street? 그것은 이쪽에 있습니까? Is it on the other side of the street? 그것은 다른 편에 있습니까?

영어회화, 유용한 영어표현 ▶ 길을 가르쳐 줄 때

   

 

1. 영어회화, 영어표현  ▷길 가는 순서를일러주다.  

Go along this street. 이 길을 따라 가십시오. Keep going straight. 계속 똑바로 가십시오. Follow this street and you will come to it. 이 길을 따라가면 그곳에 이르게 됩니다. Go west (west) for two blocks. 서쪽 (동쪽)으로 두 블록을 가십시오. (주) block: (사면이 도로로 둘러싸여진 도시의) 한 구획, 한 가 약 1/20Km Go straight down this street. 이 길을 똑바로 가십시오. Go straight until you come to a traffic light. 신호등이 나올 때까지 똑바로 가십시오. Carry on past the second corner. 두번째 모퉁이를 지나 계속해서 가십시오. Turn right (left) at the first corner. 첫번째 모퉁이에서 오른쪽 (왼쪽)으로 도십시오. You'll come to a big intersection. 그렇게 가면 큰 교차로가 나옵니다. Turn right (left) at the intersection. 교차로에서 오른쪽 (왼쪽)으로 도십시오. Turn left (right) at the third traffic light. 세번째 신호등에서 왼쪽 (오른쪽)로 도십시오.

When you get off at chungmuro, head for the nearest exit. 충무로 역에서 내리면, 가장 가까운 출구로 나가십시오. (주) head for: --로 향해 나아가다 Turn right at the second corner, and you'll find it right ahead of you. 두 번째 모퉁이에서 오른쪽으로 돌면 바로 앞에 있습니다. Turn left at the next corner and go straight two blocks, It's the second building from the corner. 다음 모퉁이에서 왼쪽으로 돌아서 곧바로 두 블록을 가십시오. 그것은 모퉁이에서 두 번째 건물입니다. Go north for three blocks. Turn right and walk one block east. It's on the corner of 5th Street and Park Avenue. 북쪽으로 세 블록을 가십시오. 그리고 오른쪽으로 돌아 동쪽으로 한 블록을 가십시오. 그것은 5번가와 파크가의 모퉁이에 위치하고 있습니다.

It's next door to City Hall. 그것은 시청 옆에 위치하고 있습니다. (주) next door to: --의 이웃에, --에 몹시 가까운 -- That was next door to a riot. (그것은 폭동에 가까운 것이었다.) It's the third house (or building) from the corner. 모퉁이에서 세번째 집 (건물)입니다. It's two door from the corner. 모퉁이로부터 두 집 건너에 있습니다

It's five minutes' walk from the subway station. 지하철 역에서 5분거리에 있습니다. It's 10 minutes' walk to the station. 정거장까지 걸어서 10분입니다.
